EASTER AND THE ROYAL WEDDING

Here at y-not guest house We are buzy deciding on our theme for decorating the house and gardens. We encourage the birds into the garden and now it has turned so cold thus making sure the birds are well fed and watered the same as our guests. Boston is buzy with the new Asda nearly completed and M&S also has been given a face lift. We begin to see visitors start their repeating visits year after year, we are begining to see the cyclists, and walkers on their various trips. The 1st weekend in May will see the famous tulip parade in Spalding which is only 16 miles away from us in Boston. It truly is a sight to see and then we have the May fair for the same week in the Town. Some people love the atmosphere and others are not so entrilled, we like to go up and watch but no longer participate. but always candy from the rocky thompson stall and a candy floss is a must. We hope to see guests returning who are now friends and new guests who are visiting Boston for the first time. All will receive a warm welcome and we hope you enjoy your stay at y-not guest house whether your trip is for business or pleasure. kind regards Margaret

Kind Regards Margaret and Pete

WELCOME

Here in Boston it is our buzy season again with the GB rowing team trials.
We are always pleased to welcome the teams as they return year after year. They are a real credit to our country and show such determination to do well for their country in a difficult sport. It is not all glitz and glamour, cold, wet, windy and snow seems to be the weather when they are working their hardest to have a deserving place in the team. Good luck to everyone taking part this year 2011.
We are having a new drive laid at the guest house as the weather has not been kind to the concrete over the last 2 years. Boston town centre is having a revamp but there are still lots of things to do and shops for those who are starting their christmas shopping early. It does not seem possible for christmas to be so near. A short drive away we have woodhall spa with lots of history and a nice walk in the woods,a cinema in the woods and a lovely cafe to enjoy a meal or snack after your walk. Skegness is only 45 minutes away with lots of shops and up along the coast is Donna Nook where the seal colony is, from the beginning of November you can visit and see the baby seals being born.so close to the public. A fantastic day out for all. In Boston we have the 2 bird reserves Frampton Marsh and Frieston Shore, again wonderful places to visit.

spring has sprung

It does not seem possible that we are putting the clocks forward this weekend. The gardens are looking good and the plants are well on the way in the greenhouse. Baskets are planted and keeping warm. Tomatoes and cucumbers, lettuce all growing nicely. The birds are buzy building their nests in the conifer trees at the bottom of the garden at the Y-NOT Guest House. Our guests at the b and b tell me where the birds are going in and out of the hedge.we have blackbirds, thrushes, sparrows, wren, blue tits and great tits. doves and starlings. The robin and Green Finches.
We feed the birds in the garden, so they are always looking around for you to feed them. Just down the road we walk and feed the ducks and Canadian Geese on the forty foot bank. Later we have a family of swans appear. You have to be careful other wise they follow you back to the B&B. We have to make sure the ducks do not get into the garden other wise they destroy our ponds.

Summer nearly here

i just wanted to say thankyou to Simon and his team of staff and helpers at frampton RSPB reserve, who made us so welcome last thursday 17th March 2011. We were invited as local businesses to attend the centre and see what happened down there so we could tell our visitors what a day at the centre involved.we had a wonderful day and a superb buffet lunch.it was very intresting to see what they have achieved, it was a cold day but still pleasant. we will certainly be spending more time down at the reserve as it is just as pleasant to have a quiet walk and always something to be watching.not always the birds but the wildlife that the birds need to be able to feed.
